The Give Ups, The Give Ins, and The Get Over Its
Racing season is just now starting it's punch packing and we are all getting into the full swing of things. For some it's felt like it has already been an uphill battle that has only just started. Technical problems already, multiple wrecks, arguments with other drivers and track officials, it just seems they can't get a break this season. Racing moves in the way much like life does in my opinion. So many uphill battles at one time and then other times everything seems to hit the mark and it just becomes smooth sailing. I prefer a somewhat struggle or test in life and in racing. It truly shows what you're made of or how smart you are about your limits and when you've had enough. I never compare myself to others but I do like to see how others handle the struggles they come across in different ways than I do. Everyone is different and I appreciate that about the human race. In racing I get to see drivers, many at a time, go through the exact same difficult circumstances on and off the track but what I enjoy most is seeing how each one handles it differently. Observe the track and the people at it long enough and you can see most are going through the same problems and each one has a specific way of dealing with it. Some bulldoze through problems, at times at the embarrassment to themselves for lack of thinking, some quietly think things over until a solution is made, and some totally ignore the problems they face. Everyone is different and no one way is correct for one person over the next. Drivers decide for themselves what they must do and how to do it. I call the moment they must decide, the give ups, the give in and the get over its.

Calling in for tonight's show we have Randy "Dream" Weaver, Jimmy Thomas, Pearson Lee Williams, and Darryl Courson. Also, in-house we will have Steve Connell along with his sons Tanner and Cameron. (Editor's note: We learned a lesson tonight. From now on, we will plan on doing a second recording of the show with an additional camera because after Youtube processed the video this time, we were left with basically a green screen. Fortunately, most of the audio is intact.)

EDGE DOMINATES IN NeSMITH LATE MODEL WEEKEND OPENER AT WAYCROSS
By: Nesmith Media
WAYCROSS, GA – Chase Edge of LaFayette, AL swept the first of two nights for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series on Friday night at Waycross Motor Speedway. Edge took the point from the pole position and led all 40 laps to take the $2,000 victory in the Edge’s Gas Company Special.
Crates
Superstreets
Enduro
The only driver that could stay close to Edge was local favorite Cecil Eunice of Blackshear, GA. Eunice would close to within a couple of car lengths of Edge in heavy lapped traffic, but he would never get close enough to challenge for the lead. Eunice would have to settle for second in the Ace Pole Company Special.

New Dirt Track Coming!
In Ellisville, Florida sits a one half mile asphalt track that has been sitting just waiting for someone to come pluck her up and make her new again. Her wish has came true this week with a silent investor coming along and giving her a whole new facelift. No longer will Ellisville be an asphalt track but it will now become a half mile dirt track. How I love to hear of new dirt tracks coming along instead of shutting down. It makes my heart happy for the future of our sport. Some of you may know the man who will be the operator/manager of the track by the name of Wendall Durrence. A well known man in racing in our area and the man going to work on the track will be none other than a man I've known for 17 years by the name of Everett Phillip. Another well known, well liked man in racing. He will be in charge of ripping the asphalt up and laying clay down in it's place. The plan is to make the track wider in the turns and make it sloped from bottom to top removing the flat spot in the top of turn 2. All kinds of upgrades will be made not only to the track but to all the facilities including grandstands and concession areas. Wendall is in the process of getting a schedule for this year going and is hoping to see a July opening for the track. Deep Dixie has been invited to come and take photos and video of the progress being made so be sure to keep a lookout for any news about the exciting new dirt track coming into the racing family. We can't wait to see all the new upgrades coming and in time see all the big races they are planning on having this year and in coming seasons. We are all on pins and needles waiting but we all know these things take time. Help us in welcoming a new old track to the racing world and let's give them our full support for continuing racing when so many other tracks are closing. I hope you all tune in for more info, pictures and videos to come!
