ASCS Carolina Sprint Series Forced To Cancel Southern Sprint Car Showdown

 Charlotte, N.C. – Officials with the ASCS Carolina Sprint Series in conjunction with the FSCA Series were forced to cancel this weekend’s Southern Sprint Car Showdown at Oglethorpe Speedway Park and Needmore Speedway in Georgia. 

ASCS Series Director Tom Baker didn’t mince words as he made the announcement after talking with both track promoters.

What Racing Has Taught Me

      I am personally one to never shy away from life lessons. I can see a potential learning lesson in everything and compare these experiences to my own life. Being in racing for as long as I have it has taught me some of the most important lessons of my life. Not everyone can see things as I do but I tend to like this trait in myself because I always have something new in life to see, learn from, and experience. Life is never static for me. Racing is ever-changing and growing but still at the heart remains the same. I feel the same way. It has many complexities, many rooms for improvement but to it's core it's still rooted, deep, and consistent.

PHENIX CITY, AL – Jake Knowles of Tyrone, GA had an exciting start, then an easy race for 40 laps, followed by an anxious last ten laps. But he hung on to win the 50-lap Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series Race on Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway in the Cedartown Electric Rocket, and in doing so, took over the point lead.

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Point leader Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL will be looking for his second straight NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series win and his third straight top two finish this weekend in Week 3 competition.  There will be eight NeSmith Chevrolet WRS events on the Week 3 schedule in five different states.

                NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 3 competition gets underwaythis Friday night at the 2014 season opener at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.  Formerly known as Hattiesburg Motorsports Park, Hattiesburg Speedway begins a new era under new ownership.

NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 2 PREVIEW

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

 

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 2 schedule of events will see 11 races in seven different states.  There will be two races on Friday night and nine races on Saturday night.  After opening week competition, there is a four-way tie for the National point lead.

 

                Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will highlight Friday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 2 action with a $1,000-to-win race.  Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR will also host a Friday night Week 2 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series race.

 

                Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will present a $1,000-to-win Crate 45 Challenge Race on Saturday night for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models.  Also in action on Saturday night are Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Penton Raceway in Penton, AL, Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO, Smokey Harris Speedway in Haleburg, AL, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
