Cory Howard of Lake City Florida got the call Friday night from Jent Motorsports. They needed a driver and some money. Cory didn't pause to drive the car but money was a problem. At one point between Friday night and Saturday at 4pm the weekend looked to be over for Cory until the Jent Motorsports team came through. As soon as the team got the word ,they were headed to the (dirt track) Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Ill on Sunday .
Cory and the team got there a l...ittle late with a broken rear brake line and only 15 minutes of practice that set the team back from the beginning. The team used old tires to practice on so they could use the new ones in the 100 lap ARCA Series race. The team made some changes to a loose car after practice and bolted on the sticker tires.
When the ARCA Series race started Cory was in the 19th spot and with the new tires made has way up to 14th when entering turn 2 the brakes went to the floor. The Jent Motorsports car backed into the one and two outside wall and the day was over. With the disappointment of the weekend. Cory is still looking forward to more races with Jent Motorsports or his own team in 2016.
