Weekend Outlook: Golden Isles Speedway
Do you need some excitement in your life? Need something loud in your ears to drown out the boss's barking orders, the husband or wife's nagging, or the baby's screaming? Do I have a place for you. How about the sound of around 550 horses screaming in your ear? That's the sound you'll hear this weekend at Golden Isles Speedway when the NLMSS comes roaring into town. For 40 laps you can watch some of the best drivers in South Georgia drive their way to a $3,000 payday.
The top driver in the points right now is Evan Becton and when asked what he liked about Golden Isles he said, "It's a multi-groove track that lets me race anywhere on the track." He also said 2 races ago he was leading the whole race until 6 to go when he had to shut off the car due to motor issues. Sounds like he is gunning for redemption. He will definitely be one to watch.
The second place in the points right now is a tie between Russell Brown Jr., Jason Fitzgerald, and Rhett Carter. When I asked Russell Brown Jr. about Golden Isles he said "It's racey and has enough bank in it you can move up and down the track. The track doesn't wear on tires and you don't have to worry about being shuffled to the back or hitting the wall." I believe with his 5 wins at Golden Isles he knows what he's talking about. Other drivers expected are "The Professor" Ivedent Lloyd, previous series race winner Brandon Dewitt, Rhett Carter, Jason Fitzgerald, and Kevin White. Golden Isles is always full of competitive racing and that makes for a good Saturday night. Needing that excitement still? Golden Isles can help with that. Check the website for more details.
