At their last race, Needmore Speedway announced that they were going to add an additional class of cars to their lineup. These cars were described as old school late models. A preliminary rule sheet for these cars was made available for those who are interested. He also told us that Needmore Speedway would be opening up their Superstreet Class to allow the Outlaw Superstreet cars to compete against them. Take a look at the video to learn more.

By now, most of you know that Keith Stith and his wife, Jennifer, were involved in an auto accident yesterday morning. I spoke with their son, Stuart, this afternoon and he let me know a little more about his parents' injuries. Let's be clear, both of his parents have sustained injuries which are severe in nature. His dad is in the ICU unit in critical condition after being transported to Macon while his mom is in the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.

For What It's Worth, My Two Cents On Deep Dixie Racing
For the last six months, Carolyn Johnson, Leo Johnson, and myself have been thoroughly enjoying getting Deep Dixie Racing off the ground. It has been an endeavor of love because all three of us love racing and we want to see it's popularity grow. The advent of the internet and all the new technology that has come along with it has allowed us to provide content in ways that were unimaginable just a few short years ago. Trust me, we are still exploring new ways to provide content in a timely manner and we would like to enlist your help in doing so. We understand that many of you who come to our website love racing too and most of you guys share the same goals that we do.

Ed Clark and Atlanta Motor Speedway, Two of The Best
I got to meet Atlanta Motor Speedway president, Ed Clark, at a Thursday Night Thunder show a few weeks back and he was the most down to Earth and laid back person I have ever seen considering he is president and responsible for one of the best NASCAR tracks on the circuit. I saw him talking and laughing with everyone in the pits and taking time to have conversations with them. He knew
who they were, who their families and pit crews were, and what cars they drove. He just is a really good person.

Needmore Speedway and the Georgia Automobile Racing Hall of Fame, South Georgia Chapter will add a special twist to their regular racing program, Saturday night, July 14th. Several former drivers who raced at Thunderbowl Speedway and I-75 Speedway will be on hand for a special autograph session before the races that night. Several former drivers have been invited to the event including Eddie MacDonald, Louie Radney Jr., Sputter Ragan, Bill O'Neal, Jimmy Murphy, Ed Mansfield, Curtis Morgan, Ed Brown, Rance Phillips, Ronnie Lieupo, Charles Hatch, and Yankee Smith to name a few. In addition to the autograph session, race fans will be treated to a special 15 lap feature for the open wheel modified "Skeeter Cars". Many of the younger race fans have never had the opportunity to see these cars in competition, so be sure to bring the kids.
The mission of the Georgia Automobile Racing Hall of Fame Association is the preservation of the history of auto racing in the state of Georgia and is a statewide organization with hundreds of members throughout the Southeast. As a member of GARHOFA, you recieve a hat pin plus quarterly editions of Pioneer Pages magazine that's always full of interesting articles about the people who contributed to the history of stock car racing in Georgia. Each year a group is inducted into the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame located in Dawsonville, Georgia. The Hall of Fame is a great place to visit as it's full of racing memorabilia including several race cars donated by former drivers including Bill Elliot. Needmore Speedway is located near Norman Park, Georgia at 1060 John Vickers Road.
