For What It's Worth, My Two Cents On Deep Dixie Racing

For the last six months, Carolyn Johnson, Leo Johnson, and myself have been thoroughly enjoying getting Deep Dixie Racing off the ground.  It has been an endeavor of love because all three of us love racing and we want to see it's popularity grow.  The advent of the internet and all the new technology that has come along with it has allowed us to provide content in ways that were unimaginable just a few short years ago.  Trust me, we are still exploring new ways to provide content in a timely manner and we would like to enlist your help in doing so. We understand that many of you who come to our website love racing too and most of you guys share the same goals that we do.

One of the things that we have realized is that not all people in racing like to have the spotlight cast on them and we really want to respect that.  On the other hand, quite a few of you folks involved in racing wouldn't mind letting folks get to know a little more about you and your involvement and/or accomplishments.  Those are the people we need to connect with.  By all means, if you are interested in being interviewed or know of someone else who might be interested, please approach one of us and let us know.  You see, we don't know a lot of you personally but please believe me when we say that we would like to.  Our belief is that in order to make racing more popular, we have to increase the fan base and to do that, we need to let others know that the racing community is full of honest, decent, hard-working, salt-of-the-earth type folks.  That is why we want to get to know as many of you as we possibly can.

Please understand that we are human and we are going to make some bad decisions and we may in some way offend people at times.  That is not one of our goals and I offer an apology to anyone we may have inadvertently offended. On the other hand, if you are a negative person by nature and attack people instead of offering encouragement or positive solutions, my goal is to pray for you instead of letting the world know that you are such a pain in the butt.

On that last note, I would like to offer some suggestions.  No matter who you are, if you have a problem with someone, don't you think it would be better to talk with that person in private rather than confront them in a public forum?  More often than not, the person who confronts or puts down someone or something in a public forum is usually the one cast in a negative light.  Please think about what you say before you say it.  I have heard a lot of wise people repeat that if you don't have anything good to say, then don't say anything at all. I promise to try and heed that advice myself.
