Cartersville, GA - Crate Racin' USA officials were alerted to a social media post offering "counterfeit" Crate USA Generation III (yellow) seals that were previously used for our engine rebuild program. This post was made by Mickey Trosclair, a former competitor who recently received a lifetime suspension from competing with any Crate Racin' USA affiliated series for unsportsmanlike conduct. This statement is being released to debunk any misconceptions or concerns that might come as a result of this posting.
The Generation III(yellow) seals that were used by Crate Racin' USA were manufactured with a copyright on the serial #s and CRATE USA lettering. The following items should be brought to the attention of competitors and promoters regarding the "counterfeit" seal:
1) Crate Racin' USA has been in contact with the manufacturer of the cable seal and there is NO other orders with the CRATE USA wording or serial #s that have been shipped.
2) Photos floating around the internet show a seal that has the CRATE USA wording, but the other cable seals pictured are turned so that the serial # portion of the seal is not visible.
3) Serial #s on the Crate USA Gen III seals are on record and the series will know to whom and where the seal is sold. Crate Racin' USA has a database which contains thorough information for all engine rebuilds dating back over 10 years.
Crate Racin' USA considers maintaining the integrity of our engine sealing system as a top priority. We work diligently with our suppliers to maintain this integrity and will continue to do so. This matter will now be turned over to our legal department for monitoring.
We appreciate our fans, competitors, and promoters continued support.
