Georgia Madness at Albany and Needmore Goes for SAS Racing Series August 9, August 10

 Fayetteville, TN- August 4, 2013- The Southern All Star Racing Series will visit a pair of new venues for the tour with the Georgia Madness doubleheader weekend at Albany Motor Speedway in Albany, GA on Friday August 9 and Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, GA on Saturday August 10.  Both events will be 40 laps in distance and pay the winner $4,000 for their efforts and pay $300 to start at each event. 
 The Southern All Star Racing Series event at Albany Motor Speedway on Friday August 9 will feature a complete program of practice, WhitePerformance.com A-B Group Time Trials, PPM Racing Products Last Chance Showdowns, and will conclude with the 40 lap, $4,000 to win Georgia Madness A-Main.  Support divisions set to join the Southern All Star Racing Series in action at Albany Motor Speedway on Friday August 9 will be the track’s Limited Late Model and Enduro divisions.  Albany Motor Speedway will also have an open practice for all competitors on Thursday evening August 8 from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and all drivers are invited.  Also, all Super Late Models in competition at Albany Motor Speedway on Friday August 9 must be equipped with mufflers per track rules. 

 The Southern All Star Racing Series event at Needmore Speedway on Saturday August 10 will feature a complete program of practice, WhitePerformance.com A-B Group Time Trials, PPM Racing Products Last Chance Showdowns, and will conclude with the 40 lap, $4,000 to win Georgia Madness A-Main.  Support divisions set to join the Southern All Star Racing Series in action at Needmore Speedway on Saturday August 10 will be the track’s Limited Late Model, Super Street, Hobby, and Enduro divisions.     
 The visit by the Southern All Star Racing Series to Albany Motor Speedway in Albany, GA on Friday August 9 and to Needmore Speedway on Saturday August 10 will mark the tour’s first-ever visit to both racing facilities
 Among those expected from the Southern All Star Racing Series stable of drivers include series points leader Riley Hickman of Chattanooga, TN, Mike Weeks of Friendsville, TN, Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL, Mark Rosner of Rockford, TN, Bret Holmes of Munford, AL, Billy Ogle, Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Mark Vineyard of Powell, TN, along with a strong array of talented local and regional racing stars such as Cale Simons of Albany, GA, Kelly Walker of Moultrie, GA, Brandon Dewitt of Barney, GA, Russell Brown, Jr. of Valdosta, GA, Adam Giles of Moultrie, GA, Jason Fitzgerald of Middleburg, FL, Ivadent Lloyd of Ocala, FL, Casey Barrow of Savannah, GA, Chesley Dixon of Swainsboro, GA plus many more are expected.  The tour has presented thirteen events already in 2013 and the tour has seen nine different drivers visit victory with the series this season.
Activities for the Southern All Star Racing Series Georgia Madness at Albany Motor Speedway on Friday August 9 will see the pit area open at 5:00 p.m. and general admission open at 5:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 7:30 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing.  All times listed are Eastern Daylight Time.  Ticket prices for the Georgia Madness event at Albany Motor Speedway on Friday August 9 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, children ages 10 and under are free, while a pit pass will be $35.

 The entry fee for the Friday August 9 event at Albany Motor Speedway and Saturday August 10 event at Needmore Speedway is $100 at each race and can be made payable to the Southern All Star Racing Series.  The tire rule is exclusively Hoosier Tires and the only compounds eligible to be used are the Hoosier 1350, 1450, and 1600 compounds.
