A Pre-Race Chat With Morgan Turpen

Back in September of last year, Deep Dixie Racing ran a questionnaire that Morgan Turpen filled out for us before the USCS winged-sprint car race which was held at Albany Motor Speedway. We were able to catch up with her again this past weekend at East Alabama Motor Speedway and she was gracious enough to speak with us before her race.

A Conversation With Deep Dixie Racing Legend Eddie MacDonald

Not so long ago, I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with one of my lifelong heroes, Mr. Eddie MacDonald. It was really enjoyable to sit back and listen to the driver of the famous "Gold 90" talk about his career. Hopefully, you will enjoy it as much as I did. This is part 1 of 2 videos.

Deep Dixie Racing Progress Report And Request For Assistance

At the beginning of 2012, a couple of friends, Carolyn and Leo Johnson, and myself got together and started Deep Dixie Racing. All three of us shared a passion for stock car racing and we wanted to do something that would help promote the sport that we love. With advancing technology at our disposal, the way all types of news was being presented to the public was rapidly changing and we didn't want the racing community to get left behind. From the very start, our goal has been to help promote the tracks we are allowed to cover, to spotlight the drivers, and engage the fans.  We have sought to accomplish this through the use of video, photos, stories and social media.

Videos: Golden Isles Speedway 6/1/13

Golden Isles Speedway is alive and well. In fact, after Saturday night, you could say that it is thriving. At least 115 cars showed up to race, 24 of them being late models. Those late models were vying for the $2,000 that went to the winner. Kyle Van Sickle inherited the lead after the right-front wheel came off of Mark Whitener's car and Kyle never relinquished it. This first video is of that race. Other videos will be posted as they are completed.
