Atlanta, GA - September 10, 2012 - The United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear and Filter Charged by K&N Filters "Outlaw Thunder" Tour for winged sprint cars invades Albany Motor Speedway as headliners of the 1st Annual "USCS Albany ź mile Nationals" on Friday and Saturday September 14th and 15th. Joining the world's most powerful race cars as co-headliners at the ź mile red clay oval for two big nights of speed will be the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini-sprint drivers.
USCS presented by Goodyear winged outlaw style sprint car drivers from at least six states will be converging on Albany Motor Speedway for the first appearance of the powerful winged Outlaw style sprint cars in ten seasons. During their last appearance the track was a paved oval. That race was won by now ten-time and defending USCS National Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee. Gray is one of the headline entries for this week's event. He will be in town early making pre-race appearances this week.
USCS (United Speed Contest Sanction) Founder and President, Pete Walton stated that, "The USCS is excited to be able bring the USCS Winged Outlaw Sprint Cars back to Albany Motor Speedway and entertain the Albany and South Georgia race fans with two nights of speed and power to be remembered. The USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint cars are going to be like "jet fighters in a gymnasium" around the quick ź mile red clay oval at Albany Motor Speedway" concluded Walton.
In addition to the 100 plus mile per hour USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint cars and the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini-sprints four of Albany Motor Speedway's weekly racing divisions including the Late Model (Ltd.) Sportsman, Pure Stock, Enduro and Super Street divisions are on the racing card with a full program of racing including qualifying and main events each night.
Over 200 laps of main events will be contested with over $30,000 in prize money up for grabs during the two nights of competition with bonus prize money up for grabs in the four Albany Motor Speedway divisions for the top driver from the combined two nights finishes..
