Thomas Wins with Bonsai Move

                                           


  Friday night at Albany Motor Speedway there were 31 Nesmith Crate Late Models on hand from all over the southeast. With names like Rambo Franklin, Shep Lucas, Johnny Stokes, William Thomas and locals Larry Harrod, Lovan Sloan, Kelly Walker, and Kyle Bridges.
 Qualifying saw Chase Edge with the fastest time of 14.357.  Jake Teague, was second with a 14.386 and local  Larry Harrod ,was third with a 14.406. The top ten cars where locked in on time.The B-mains saw Dennis "Rambo" Franklin win the first of the two. The second B-main was a lot closer than the first with Chris Cantrell winning the battle against Dan Breuer.With 22 car locked in, the two provisionals went to Mark Tice and local Travis Stone making up the 24 car field. The 117 of Jake Teague started out with early lead and the fourth place starter of William Thomas following in second. The two battled for the lead the whole race seeing Thomas following close on Teague's bumper. A caution half way through the race saw Mike Tice and Kitt Sealy spin in turns three and four bringing out the caution to close in the field. Thomas and Teague battled until the end with lap traffic coming into play. Thomas made his move coming off of four on the last lap to win the 40 lap feature by .246 thousandths of a second bringing the crowd roaring to their feet. Final finishing order was:
