NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 20 Round Up



Cartersville, GA - Spencer Hughes took another step towards the perfect score of 700 points after picking up the win at Magnolia Motor Speedway on Saturday night. However, Hughes is in a three way battle for the lead that looks to be going down to the wire to determine the 2016 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division National Champion.


Headlines from Week 20:
•Hughes, Steve Pate, and Texas driver Randy Lovell have a tight battle going on amongst themselves in the top 3 of points. Each driver has reached 14 weeks of competition and each are looking to drop their worst finishes and rack up more wins to see who will be crowned 2016 NeSmith Street Stock National Champion.
•19 of the Top 20 drivers in National Points have reached 14 weeks of competition, which means that they will begin to remove their worst finishes in hopes of netting more points.
•Rob Slott picked up feature wins at Golden Triangle Raceway Park and Battleground Speedway during Week 20.
•Jason Price and Kyle Livingood each grabbed a feature win at Albany Motor Speedway during their Double Feature night on Saturday night.
•Jimmy Nolen was the winner at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN.
•Mike Palmiter visited victory lane for the first time in 2016 NeSmith Street Stock competition on Saturday at Whynot Motorsports Park.
•2015 NeSmith Street Stock Division Champion Richie Stephens visited victory lane at his home track East Alabama Motor Speedway.
•Stuart Wilson bested his brother Frank and a strong field of competitors in route to a big win in the $1,000 to win Jarrod John Memorial Derby at Flomaton Speedway on Saturday night.
•Steve Pate picked up yet another win at Talladega Short Track, and tightened things up amongst the top 3 in points.
•Brian Grantham was victorious on Saturday night at Golden Isles Speedway.
•Mike Palasini Jr. visited Greenville Speedway victory lane on Saturday night.
•Thomas Dale drove to victory lane at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, TN on Saturday night.
