NeSmith Racing Announces Addition of New Late Model Sportsman Division

Cartersville, GA - NeSmith Racing officials announced today that they will be adding a new Weekly Racing division to their family of series powered by Chevrolet Performance circle track racing engines. The NeSmith Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division will join the line-up of classes under the Crate Racin' USA banner for 2017. NeSmith Racing prides itself on being "America's Leader In Racing" and in doing so saw the need to add the new division for 2017. NeSmith Racing CEO/Founder Mike Vaughn on the addition of the NeSmith Late Model Sportsman Division to the NeSmith Racing family: "After several months of conversation and approaches from multiple track promoters, we feel that there is a need for a truly entry level, affordable Late Model class. The addition of the Late Model Sportsman division gives drivers a multi-level system of classes that can suit any racer's budget. There is something for every racer from the NeSmith Street Stock Division, NeSmith Late Model Sportsman, NeSmith Dirt Late Model Series, and up to the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series. There has been interest in establishing this class with a good set of common rules that can, and will be, enforced evenly across the area." The NeSmith Late Model Sportsman class will see Late Model cars powered by the Chevrolet Performance 602 engines, available for $3,495 with next day delivery across the Southeast from NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA. Competitors will also be allowed to use their all-steel, 2 barrel engines if they already have one. The series rules will utilize weight and carburetor specifications to ensure equal competition from the two choices. The NeSmith Late Model Sportsman class will have many cost effective measures incorporated into the rules package to reduce cost to the racer. Items such as: a single tire compound choice with no grooving, siping, needling, or chemical alteration allowed; affordable shock package that will not allow bump stops or stacked springs; and the possibility of a specific fuel to name a few. Complete rules package will be released in the coming days. Finalization is taking place currently to ensure that all promoters are on board and agree to the cost effective measures before they are implemented and published.
